Home Tour > Great Room Reveal
I had always wanted to add some character to the walls in our Kitchen/Great room. We had already lived in our home for 10 months and accomplishment so much in the short period. However, I had to convince my husband that it was necessary and would connect this well lived in area with our Foyer and Dining Room.
Of course he agreed and we went for it! Like I said the walls were bare and I did not want to add crown moulding and call it a day. So we continued the beaded board from the front of the home and extended it throughout the walls in the kitchen and great room. Immediately it added warmth to the walls!
Next we painted the wall panelling bright white which brightened up the space! I decided to go with Behr Shoelace for the walls above the wall panelling, it was just subtle enough but still keeping the space open and bright.
A month later we added the brass sconces above the floating shelves and it was worth the wait. I have always enjoyed bringing in lighting into a space and figuring out how to blend my different styles into one cohesive and comfortable space.
I hope you agree with me.
